UW-Whitewater leads College Football America Yearbook’s 2020 Division III Preseason Top 30

Kevin Bullis

UW-Whitewater, which reached the Stagg Bowl last season before losing to North Central, is No. 1 in the 2020 College Football America Yearbook Division III preseason Top 30.

The Warhawks, a perennial Division III power with six national titles to their credit, seeks its first title since 2014. The Warhawks have two selections to the CFA Yearbook’s Division III Starting Lineup (the equivalent to a preseason All-America team) — offensive lineman Quinn Meinerz and defensive lineman Mackenzie Balanganayi.

Another traditional power, Mount Union, is No. 2. The Purple Raiders have a new head coach in 2020, Geoff Dartt, as they seek a 14th national crown.

Defending Stagg Bowl champion North Central is No. 3, and while the Cardinals are without record-setting quarterback Broc Rutter, four players were selected to the CFA Yearbook Starting Lineup — running back Ethan Greenfield, wide receiver Andrew Kamienski, offensive lineman Sharmore Clarke and defensive back Jake Beesley.

Two-time national champion Mary Hardin-Baylor and Wheaton complete the Top 5.

No. 6 Muhlenberg, No. 7 Saint John’s, No. 8 Salisbury, No. 9 John Carroll and No. 10 Delaware Valley round out the Top 10.

The Division III section of the College Football America 2020 Yearbook features 36 pages of content including:

  • National Division III preview;
  • Division III preseason Starting Lineup;
  • Update on each Division III conference;
  • Capsules for every Division III team, including 2019 results and 2020 schedules;
  • Fourteen color action, coach and stadium photos.

The College Football America 2020 Yearbook features more than 930 college football teams from the United States and Canada in more than 250 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes updates on club football, one-year postgraduate prep/sports academies and Mexican college football, along with dozens of action shots and stadium photos taken by the CFA staff.

The print edition is available online via Amazon.com and other major retailers such as Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million.
