So what did we do on this day in College Football America Yearbook history?
2014: Louisville (FBS) at Syracuse (FBS)
Our College Football America Yearbook editor Matthew Postins made his maiden voyage to the Carrier Dome to see the Orangemen battle the Cardinals in the great indoors. Louisville came away with a 28-20 Big East Conference victory to break a 12-game conference road losing streak.
2015: Sul Ross State (D3) at Louisiana College (D3)
Our College Football America Yearbook director of editorial content Chuck Cox made a trip to visit relatives in Alexandria, Louisiana, and check out his first Louisiana College home game in nearby Pineville. As an added bonus, he saw Sul Ross State play in person for the first time. The Wildcats scored a 38-28 American Southwest Conference win in the second all-time meeting between the teams.
2015: Stephen F. Austin (FCS) vs. Sam Houston State (FCS)
Our College Football America Yearbook editor Matthew Postins made himself at home at NRG Stadium, home of the NFL’s Houston Texans, to see his alma mater, SFA, battle rival Sam Houston in the Battle of the Piney Woods. The Bearkats won the 90th meeting with the Lumberjacks, 34-28. The series has been played in Houston since 2010.
2015: Vanderbilt (FBS) at Middle Tennessee (FBS)
Our College Football America Yearbook publisher Kendall Webb didn’t have to go far to see one of his alma maters, MTSU, take on Vanderbilt, which also didn’t have to go far. The Commodores took the short trip from Nashville to Murfreesboro and left with a 17-13 victory. But Vandy needed two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to come back after trailing, 6-3, after three.
