Today in College Football America History – Dec. 2

South Dakota Coyotes

Today we celebrate this day in College Football America Yearbook history by looking back on the games we’ve covered on this date, Dec. 2. The staff at the College Football America Yearbook has been attending and coverings games since 2010, even before we actually had a physical yearbook to sell. Our staff travels the country to cover anywhere from 50 to 70 college football games per season. So, we’ve accumulated many games, many photos and many memories. Each day, we’ll encapsulate those memories here and include links to our photos and game coverage that will help you take a look back, too.

Our College Football America Yearbook publisher Kendall Webb paid a visit to Tempe, Arizona, to see the Arizona State Sun Devils host the Arizona Wildcats in a Pac-12 finale for both teams. It’s a rivalry game, of course, dubbed the Territorial Cup. The game, first contested in 1899, has actually had a trophy since 1899 and the NCAA certified the trophy as the oldest trophy in college football rivalries.

Our College Football America Yearbook publisher Kendall Webb had been to the Graphic Edge Bowl a couple of years before this visit, and the Graphic Edge Bowl game is great because it’s usually a doubleheader featuring some of the best teams in junior college football. The first game, held that day at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa, featured Ellsworth and Louisburg.
