Sam Houston State Trio Leads College Football America Yearbook’s 2021 FCS Preseason Starting Lineup

Defending FCS national champions Sam Houston State have three players on the 2021 College Football America Yearbook FCS Preseason Starting Lineup, CFA’s version of an All-America team.

The Bearkats claimed their first FCS national championship in May after defeating the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, 23-21, in Frisco, Texas.

Wide receiver Jacque Ezzard, defensive lineman Jahari Kay and defensive back Zyon McCollum all made the team for Sam Houston State. Ezzard, who is also on the FCS section cover of the yearbook, was the Most Outstanding Player of the 2020 FCS National Championship game.

The following programs had at least two players on the preseason Starting Lineup:

North Dakota State (3): OL Cordell Volson, LB James Kaczor, KR Christian Watson.

East Tennessee State (2): LB Jared Folks, PR Quay Holmes.

Southern Illinois (2): WR Avante Cox, DB James Ceasar.

Illinois State (2): OL Drew Himmelman, DL Romeo McKnight.

James Madison (2): OL Raymond Gillespie, PK Ethan Ratke.

Sacred Heart (2): RB Julius Chestnut, OL J.D. DiRenzo.

The FCS section of the College Football America 2021 Yearbook features 28 pages of content including:
