Nick Saban

The Alabama Crimson Tide are the FBS preseason No. 1, four Crimson Tide players are on the FBS Dream Team and head coach Nick Saban is on the FBS section cover of the 2021 College Football America Yearbook, released last month.

The Crimson Tide, coming off an undefeated season and a national championship, were the selection as the preseason No. 1 in the Yearbook’s FBS 130, where publisher Kendall Webb ranks every FBS team. The 130 is featured on Page 16 of the Yearbook.

Saban was on the cover of the 2018 College Football America Yearbook. He comes into the 2021 season having won his sixth national championship in 2020 as the head coach at Alabama, and his seventh overall national title. His photo is featured on Page 24 of the Yearbook.

The Dream Team is the Yearbook’s All-America Team. Put together like an 85-player FBS roster, Crimson Tide offensive lineman Evan Neal, linebacker Will Anderson Jr. and cornerback Josh Jobe made the ‘Starting Lineup,’ the equivalent of the Dream Team’s First Team. Safety Jordan Battle made the ‘Second String,’ the equivalent of the Second Team.

The Dream Team also has a ‘Freshman’ class, listing 25 of the best recruits in the Class of 2021. Alabama had four incoming players in the Class of 2021  — RB Camar Wheaton, Lakeview Centennial (Garland, TX), OL Tommy Brockermeyer, All Saints Episcopal (Fort Worth, TX), OL JC Latham, IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL) and CB Kool-Aid McKinstry, Pinson Valley (Pinson, AL).

The Dream Team is on Pages 19-20 of the Yearbook.

Finally, Neal, Anderson Jr., Jobe and Battle made the Yearbook’s SEC Preseason Starting Lineup, featured on Page 94 of the Yearbook. The other Crimson Tide player on the All-SEC Starting Lineup is WR John Metchie III.

The 2021 College Football America Yearbook features nine pages of SEC content, including an overall preview of the conference race, a spotlight piece on a stadium, the SEC Starting Lineup, all team schedules and a half-page devoted to each program.
