Iowa State Cyclones Featured Prominently in 2021 College Football America Yearbook

The Iowa State Cyclones are the FBS preseason No. 9 team and Cyclones running back Breece Hall is on the FBS Dream Team in the 2021 College Football America Yearbook, released last month.

Also, quarterback Brock Purdy is on the cover of the Yearbook, which is out now.

The College Football America Yearbook Top 30 is part of the Top 130, which ranks every team in FBS. The Cyclones come in at No. 9 after finishing first in the Big 12 in the regular season. The Cyclones advanced to the Big 12 title game against Oklahoma, where the Cyclones lost, 27-21. The Cyclones won the Fiesta Bowl and finished the season 9-3 (8-1 in Big 12).

The Dream Team is the Yearbook’s All-America Team. Put together like an 85-player FBS roster, Hall made the Starting Lineup after becoming Iowa State’s first unanimous All-American last year. Also on the Starting Lineup is defening Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Mike Rose. Tight end Charlie Kolar is on the second string, and center Colin Newell is on the reserves.

The Dream Team also has a ‘Freshman’ class, listing 25 of the best recruits in the Class of 2021.

The Dream Team is on Pages 19-20 of the Yearbook.

Finally, Hall, Rose, Kolar and Newell made the Yearbook’s Big 12 Preseason Starting Lineup, also featured in the Yearbook. Other Cyclones on the Big 12 team include Purdy, wide receiver Xavier Hutchinson, offensive linemen Derek Schweiger, defensive lineman Will McDonald IV and defensive back Isheem Young.

The 2021 College Football America Yearbook features seven pages of Big 12 content, including an overall preview of the conference race, a spotlight piece on a stadium, the Big 12 Starting Lineup, all team schedules and a half-page devoted to each program with stadium photos.
