Grand View Vikings Featured in the 2021 College Football America Yearbook

Three Grand View players, including wide receiver Anthony Turner, are part of the 2021 College Football America Yearbook’s NAIA Preseason Starting Lineup, the book’s version of a preseason All-America team.

Just as importantly, the Vikings are No. 4 in the 2021 College Football America Yearbook’s NAIA Preseason Top 30. The Vikings are the highest-ranked Heart of American Athletic Conference program in the CFA preseason Top 30.

Turner, a senior, was an NAIA Second-Team All-American for the 2020 season. His defensive teammates, Nate Wieland and defensive back Brenden Flowers, are also in the Starting Lineup. Wieland was an NAIA First-Team All-American, while Flowers was a Second-Team All-American.

Grand View went 7-1 overall last year and 3-0 in HAAC action. The Vikings made the NAIA playoffs, defeating Dordt, 38-10, in the first round. In the quarterfinals, the Vikings fell to Northwestern (IA), 27-24.

The Vikings open the season at home against Central Methodist on Aug. 28.
