Saint John’s Jonnies wide receiver Ravi Alston is part of the 2021 College Football America Yearbook’s Division III Preseason Starting Lineup, the book’s version of a preseason All-America team.
Just as importantly, the Johnnies are No. 6 in the 2021 College Football America Yearbook’s Division III Preseason Top 30.
The Johnnies did not play a game in 2020 due to COVID-19.
In 2019, Alston finished with 88 receptions for 1,444 yards and 13 touchdowns, including 36 catches for 554 yards and five touchdowns in SJU’s four postseason games.
The Johnnies went 12-2 overall and 7-1 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The Johnnies beat Aurora, Chapman and Wheaton before falling to Wisconsin-Whitewater, 35-32, in the semifinals. The Johnnies and Warhawks have agreed to play a home-and-home series in 2022 and 2023.
Saint John’s opens the 2021 season with a playoff rematch against Aurora on Sept. 4, followed by a week off. The Johnnies then host Martin Luther before moving into MIAC action on Sept. 25 with a home game against Bethel (MN). The Johnnies don’t play a road game until Oct. 2 against Concordia (MN).
