Minnesota State Mavericks Featured in 2021 College Football America Yearbook

Minnesota State head coach Todd Hoffner

Minnesota State Mavericks offensive lineman Jared Goosen is on the 2021 College Football America Yearbook’s Division II Preseason Starting Lineup, the book’s version of a preseason All-America team.

Just as importantly, the Mavericks are No. 2 in the 2021 College Football America Yearbook’s Division II Preseason Top 30.

The Mavericks did not play in 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, the Mavericks reached the national championship game, but fell to West Florida in a thriller in McKinney, Texas.

Goosen was named to the 2019 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team as he played all 15 games for the Mavericks during their run to the national championship game. In 2018 he played in 14 games for the Mavericks as they made an extended playoff run that season, too.

The Mavericks opens the season on Sept. 2 against Northern State, a game that also serves as the NSIC opener for both teams.

The Division II section of the College Football America 2021 Yearbook features 25 pages of content including:

  • National Division II preview;
  • Division II preseason Starting Lineup;
  • Update on each Division II conference;
  • Capsules for every Division II team, including 2020 results and 2021 schedules;
  • Eleven color action, coach and stadium photos.

The College Football America 2021 Yearbook features more than 900 college football teams from the United States and Canada in more than 250 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes updates on club football, one-year postgraduate prep/sports academies and Mexican college football, along with dozens of action shots and stadium photos taken by the CFA staff.

The print edition is available online via Amazon.com and other major retailers such as Barnes & Noble.
