Mount Union Purple Raiders Featured in 2021 College Football America Yearbook

Mount Union Purple Raiders defensive back Jesse Vail is part of the 2021 College Football America Yearbook’s Division III Preseason Starting Lineup, the book’s version of a preseason All-America team.

Just as importantly, the Purple Raiders are No. 1 in the 2021 College Football America Yearbook’s Division III Preseason Top 30.

The Purple Raiders won the Ohio Athletic Conference title in a split division format to accommodate travel for COVID-19. The Purple Raiders went 4-0 overall, defeating Heidelberg in the OAC title game to win the crown.

Vail, a senior, should be one of the best defensive backs in the county in 2021.

The Purple Raiders are one of the best programs in the country. They have won 30 OAC titles and 13 national championships, all of which have come since 1993.

The Purple Raiders open the season on Sept. 4 at Westminster (PA). Mount Union then returns home to start OAC action against Baldwin Wallace.

The Division III section of the College Football America 2021 Yearbook features 36 pages of content including:

  • National Division III preview;
  • Division III preseason Starting Lineup;
  • Update on each Division III conference;
  • Capsules for every Division III team, including 2020 results and 2021 schedules;
  • Fourteen color action, coach and stadium photos.
