West Florida is No. 1 in AFCA Division II Preseason Top 25

The American Football Coaches Association Preseason Top 25 has West Florida as the No. 1 team going into the 2021 season, the same place the 2021 College Football America Yearbook had the Argos in their  Preseason Top 30.

The AFCA installed the Argos at No. 1, as West Florida is coming off its first Division II national crown in 2019. The Argos did not play in 2020 due to COVID-19. The College Football America Yearbook did the same, citing the title and the wealth of returning starters the Argos possess.

AFCA then had Minnesota at No. 2, Ferris State at No. 3, Northwest Missouri State at No. 4, Slippery Rock at No. 5, Lenoir-Rhyne and Valdosta State tied at No. 6, Texas A&M-Commerce at No. 8, Notre Dame (OH) at No. 9 and Colorado Mines at No. 10.

The College Football America Yearbook ranked Minnesota State at No. 2, followed by No. 3 Slippery Rock, No. 4 Ferris State, No. 5 Notre Dame (OH), No. 6 Northwest Missouri State, No. 7 Lenoir-Rhyne, No. 8 Texas A&M-Commerce, No. 9 Valdosta State and No. 10 Kutztown in its preseason Top 30.

After the Top 10, AFCA had Ouachita Baptist at No. 11, CSU-Pueblo at No. 12, Central Missouri at No. 13, Indianapolis at No. 14, Shepherd at No. 15, Grand Valley State at No. 16, Indiana (PA) at No. 17, Bowie State at No. 18, Tiffin at No. 19, Kutztown at No. 20, UC Lindenwood at No. 21, Harding at No. 22, Minnesota Duluth at No. 23, and both Carson-Newman and Wingate tied for No. 24.

The remainder of the College Football America Yearbook Top 30 included No. 11 Central Missouri, No. 12 Ouachita Baptist, No. 13 Indiana (PA), No. 14 Carson-Newman, No. 15 CSU-Pueblo, No. 16 Shepherd, No. 17 Colorado Mines, No. 18 Bowie State, No. 19 Wingate, No. 20 Indianapolis, No. 21 Lindenwood, No. 22 Harding, No. 23 West Chester, No. 24 Miles, No. 25 Tiffin, No. 26 Sioux Falls, No. 27 Augustana (SD), No. 28 Henderson State, No. 29 Truman State and No. 30 Ohio Dominican.

The College Football America 2021 Yearbookfeatures more than 900 college football teams from the United States and Canada in more than 250 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes updates on club football, one-year postgraduate prep/sports academies and Mexican college football, along with dozens of action shots and stadium photos taken by the CFA staff.
