The College Football America Yearbook staff will be at three games this weekend, with one of the nation’s best matchups highlighting the trips.
Chuck Cox and Matthew Postins will be in three different states, with Cox working Indiana and Ohio, while Postins handles duties in the pair’s native state of Texas.
Cox will cover two games on Saturday. The first will take him to Columbus, Ohio, for a contest between Ohio State and Oregon. This game represents a Top 10 matchup in the most recent College Football America Yearbook Top 30. The Buckeyes are at No. 3 while the Ducks are at No. 10.
Both the Buckeyes and the Ducks won their season openers, but the Ducks could be without their phenomenal pass rusher, Kayvon Thibodeaux, considered by some to be the No. 1 prospect in the 2022 NFL Draft. He hurt his ankle in the season opener.
That game is at noon eastern. That will give Cox enough time to get to Bloomington, Indiana, as the Indiana Hoosiers will host the Idaho Vandals at 7:30 p.m. eastern.
This will be Cox’s first visit to Bloomington for a game, though College Football America Yearbook publisher Kendall Webb covered a game in Bloomington several years ago. Cox and Webb saw Idaho several years ago up in Moscow, Idaho.
Postins will be in Lubbock, Texas, as the Texas Tech Red Raiders will host the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks at 7 p.m. eastern.
The Red Raiders are coming off a 38-21 win over the Houston Cougars last week. SFA defeated Tarleton State, 20-10, in the first Western Athletic Conference football game played in nearly a decade.
The Red Raiders and the Lumberjacks have played each other three times, with the Red Raiders taking all three wins.
Postins last went to Lubbock in 2019 to see the Red Raiders face Houston. Postins, along with Cox, is a graduate of SFA.
These will be games six, seven and eight of the 2021 season for the staff. Links to our stories and photo galleries from the first five games of the season are below.
