The UW-Whitewater Warhawks moved up to No. 1 in the Versus Sports Simulator’s Division III national rankings, released on Sept. 12.
The Warhawks are already 2-0 on the season and moved into the top spot this week, ahead of last week’s No. 1, the Mount Union Purple Raiders.
The Versus Sports Simulator builds a team ranking based on several factors, including a power ranking, an offensive ranking and a defensive ranking. The simulator ranks every team in Division III.
The Purple Raiders, which dropped to No. 2, won their season opener.
The Simulator rounded out its Top 10 with No. 3 Mary Hardin-Baylor, No. 4 North Central (the defending national champion), No. 5 UW-Oshkosh, No. 6 Randolph-Macon, No. 7 Saint John’s, No. 8 Johns Hopkins, No. 9 Susquehanna and No. 10 Muhlenberg.
Johns Hopkins and Susquehanna both made big jumps into the Top 10.
After the Top 10, the Simulator had UW-La Crosse at No. 11, Delaware Valley at No. 12, Hardin-Simmons at No. 13, Berry at No. 14, Central (IA) at No. 15, Bethel (MN) at No. 16, Salisbury at No. 17, Gustavus Adolphus at No. 18, Chapman at No. 19, Washington & Jefferson at No. 20, Bridgewater at No. 21, Birmingham-Southern at No. 22, Wabash at No. 23, Ithaca at No. 24 and Hobart at No. 25.
