College Football Coaches Top 25: Poll Gets More Big Ten Flavor

The Iowa Hawkeyes moved up on spot to No. 6, and they were joined by the Penn State Nittany Lions in the USA Today Coaches Top 25, which was released on Sunday.

Iowa (3-0) continued to roll after its big Cy-Hawk rivalry win over Iowa State. On Saturday, the Hawkeyes defeated Kent State, 30-7. They moved up a spot to No. 6, even though Clemson — the team ranked ahead of them last week — won.

Penn State (3-0), which defeated Auburn in a dramatic 28-20 win at Happy Valley, moved up to the No. 8 spot, their first peek into the Top 10 this season.

The top five spots remained unchanged, with No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 4 Oregon and No. 5 Texas A&M.

After No. 6 Iowa, No. 7 Clemson and No. 8 Penn State, Cincinnati and Notre Dame round out the Top 10. And those two teams will face each other on Oct. 2.
