Kilgore College Moves Up To No. 2 in NJCAA Top 15 Poll

The Kilgore College Rangers continue to position themselves as one of the elite teams in the country, as they moved up to No. 2 in the  NJCAA Division I Football Poll, released on Sept. 20.

The Rangers moved up one spot from No. 3 to No. 2 this week after shutting out Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in league action. The Rangers are seeking to claim a spot in the NJCAA national playoffs later this season. Kilgore will face nationally-ranked New Mexico Military this weekend.

Snow College remained No. 1 in the country, receiving all six first-place votes in the poll.

The NJCAA poll rounded out its Top 10 with No. 3 Garden City, No. 4 Iowa Western, No. 5 Mississippi Gulf Coast, No. 6 Independence, No. 7 Trinity Valley, No. 8 Iowa Central, No. 9 Jones and No. 10 Coffeyville.

All of the Top 10 teams are undefeated.

After the Top 10, the poll had East Mississippi at No. 11, New Mexico Military at No. 12, Monroe College at No. 13, Northwest Mississippi at No. 14 and Lackawanna at No. 15.

Butler, Hinds and Tyler received votes.
