The East Mississippi Lions and the Iowa Western Rievers remained at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in the NJCAA Division I Football Poll, released on Nov. 1.
The traditional NJCAA powers were separated by just four points in the latest poll. But EMCC earned six of the seven first-place votes. The relative agreement about the No. 1 and 2 teams in the nation allowed for a bit more separation, as No. 3 Jones had 80 points and No. 4 Snow had 77 points.
Northwest Mississippi rounded out the Top 5.
The rest of the Top 15 included No. 6 New Mexico Military, No. 7 Coffeyville, No. 8 Independence, No. 9 Monroe, No. 10 Hinds, No. 11 Iowa Central, No. 12 Mississippi Gulf Coast, No. 13 Tyler, No. 14 Butler and No. 15 Georgia Military.
Lackawanna, Blinn, Garden City, Trinity Valley, Hutchinson received votes.
