The Morningside Mustangs slid up to No. 2 in in the latest NAIA Football FirstDown Playbook Top 25, released on Nov. 8, after their win over the Northwestern (IA) Red Raiders.
The two teams met last weekend in a matchup of Top 5 teams. They also met earlier this year in the national semifinals, with Northwestern taking that game.
This was the final set of rankings before the NAIA playoff field is revealed on Nov. 14.
The Top 10 included No. 1 Lindsey Wilson, No. 2 Morningside, No. 3 Grand View, No. 4 Northwestern (IA), No. 5 Kansas Wesleyan, No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan, No. 7 Reinhardt, No. 8 Marian, No. 9 Concordia (MI) and No. 10 Bethel (KS).
After the Top 10, the poll was No. 11 Baker, No. 12 Keiser, No. 13 Southwestern (KS), No. 14 Saint Xavier, No. 15 Ottawa (AZ), No. 16 Rocky Mountain, No. 17 Georgetown (KY), No. 18 College of Idaho, No. 19 Dickinson State, No. 20 Saint Francis (IL), No. 21 Arizona Christian, No. 22 Central Methodist, No. 23 Montana Western, No. 24 Culver-Stockton and No. 25 (tie) Dordt and Langston.
