CFA Photo Gallery: UTSA vs. San Diego State

The Tropical Smoothie Café Frisco Bowl pitted UTSA against San Diego State at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, giving both teams an opportunity to close out the 2021 season with a win.

Our College Football America Yearbookstaff member Matthew Postins was at the game and shot our gallery. San Diego State won the game, defeating UTSA, 38-24.

Postins’ photo gallery is on our Facebook page and photos of the game could end up in the 2022 edition of the Yearbook. The photos may also be used by the American Football Coaches Association for its web site, social media and publications.

San Diego State’s Lucas Johnson threw for 333 yards and three touchdowns in the victory, with Jesse Matthews catching 11 passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Tyrell Shavers caught the other touchdown pass for the Aztecs. Greg Bell led San Diego State with 101 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Johnson also scored a rushing touchdown. CJ Baskerville led the Aztecs with nine tackles and an interception.

Frank Harris threw for 271 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions for the Roadrunners. Brenden Brady rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown, while Zakhari Franklin and De’Corian Clark each caught a touchdown pass. Franklin had eight receptions for 89 yards while Clark had six catches for 72 yards. Jamal Ligon and Denzel Feaster each had eight tackles for the Roadrunners.
