Alabama quarterback Bryce Young and Iowa State defensive end Will McDonald IV lead the 2022 College Football America Yearbook Preseason Dream Team.
Young won the Heisman Trophy last season after thowing for 4,872 yards and 47 touchdowns as he led the Crimson Tide to the College Football Playoff title game against Georgia. He is chasing Ohio State’s Archie Griffin, who is the Heisman’s only repeat winner.
McDonald led the Cyclones with 11 1/2 sacks last season. He is ISU’s all-time leader in sacks.
The College Football America Yearbook Dream Team is the publication’s version of a major college All-America Team with a twist. Instead of picking a first team, second team and/or third team, the team is presented in the context of an actual Football Bowl Subdivision program, with the book’s publisher, Kendall Webb, selecting the team in the role as “head coach.” FBS teams are limited to 85 scholarships, and the College Football America Yearbook Dream Team is subject to these same constraints.
Other top players included among the Starting Lineup, or First Team, are running backs Bijan Robinson of Texas and Deuce Vaughn of Kansas State, wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba of Ohio State, defensive lineman Bryan Bresee of Clemson and linebacker Will Anderson IV of Alabama.
The Dream Team also includes an incoming freshman class of some of the top recruits in the country, including Penn State quarterback Drew Allar, Texas A&M defensive tackle Walter Nolen and Jackson State cornerback Travis Hunter.
The 2022 College Football America Yearbook features more than 900 college football teams from the United States and Canada in more than 250 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes dozens of action shots and stadium photos taken by the CFA staff.
The print edition is available online via Amazon.com and other major retailers such as Barnes & Noble.
