Indiana Wesleyan Featured in 2022 College Football America Yearbook

Indiana Wesleyan defensive back Justin Johnson is part of the 2022 College Football America Yearbook’s NAIA Preseason Starting Lineup, the book’s version of a preseason All-America team.

Also, the Wildcats are No. 9 in the 2022 College Football America Yearbook’s NAIA Preseason Top 30. The Wildcats are one of the highest-ranked Mid-States Football Association programs in the CFA preseason Top 30.

Johnson became the third player in program history to earn All-America honors, as he was named a First-Team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association after last season. He finished with 52 tackles, three sacks, forced three fumbles, and two interceptions.

The Wildcats went 7-3 overall and 4-3 in league play, reaching the NAIA playoffs. Unfortunately, the run ended there, as the Wildcats were forced to cancel their playoff game due to a COVID-19 outbreak, with their opponent, Kansas Wesleyan, advancing.

The Wildcats open the 2022 football season at Valparaiso on Sept. 3, followed by a Sept. 17 road trip to Olivet Nazarene. The Wildcats open league action on Sept. 24 at home against Trinity International.

The NAIA section of the 2022 College Football America Yearbook features 16 pages of content including:

  • National NAIA preview and Preseason Top 30;
  • NAIA preseason Starting Lineup;
  • Update on each NAIA conference;
  • Capsules for every NAIA team, including 2021 results and 2022 schedules;
