The Kennesaw State Owls are No. 7 in the 2022 College Football America Yearbook’s FCS Preseason Top 30.

Plus, Kennesaw State quarterback Xavier Shepherd is part of the FCS Preseason Starting Lineup, a list of the best players in FCS entering the 2022 season.

The Owls are preparing to play their first season in the Atlantic Sun Conference, which is sponsoring football. Last year, as part of the Big South Conference, the Owls went 11-2 overall with a 7-0 record in league games. In the postseason, KSU beat Davidson in the first round before losing to ETSU, 32-31, in a second-round game.

Shepherd is coming off a big season for the Owls. He was the Big South Offensive Player of the Year and was named a First-Team All-American by two different outlets. He threw for 1,341 yards, 15 touchdowns and three interceptions, and he rushed for another 867 yards and 23 touchdowns.

The FCS section of the 2022 College Football America Yearbook features 30 pages of content including:
