Northwest Missouri State is No. 7 in the 2022 College Football America Yearbook’s Division II Preseason Top 30.
The Bearcats are coming off a 2021 in which they went 11-2 overall and 9-1 in Mid-America Athletic Association Action, with their only loss in league play coming to Washburn, 17-16. The Bearcats reached the Division II playoffs and won their first two games against Central Washington (50-21) and Harding (28-7). The road ended for the Bearcats at Ferris State, where the Bearcats lost, 41-20, to the eventual national champions.
The Bearcats open the season and their MIAA slate on Sept. 1 at home against Fort Hays State. That is followed by a Sept. 10 road game at Lincoln (MO).
