Two Saint John’s Jonnies players part of the 2022 College Football America Yearbook’s Division III Preseason Starting Lineup, the book’s version of a preseason All-America team.

The Johnnies are also No. 7 in the 2022 College Football America Yearbook’s Division III Preseason Top 30.

The Johnnies are coming off a season in which they went 11-1 overall and 8-0 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action. In the postseason, the Johnnies defeated Lake Forest in the first round before falling to Linfield in the second round.  

The two Johnnies on the preseason team are tight end Alex Larson and defensive lineman Michael Wozniak.

Wozniak had a team-leading 15.5 tackles for loss and was a First-Team All-American last season. Larson made the D3Football.com All-America Fourth Team.

Saint John’s opens the 2022 season with a home game against national power UW-Whitewater on Sept. 3, followed by another home game on Sept. 10 against UW-River Falls. The Johnnies open MIAC action on Sept. 24 at Bethel (MN).
