Clemson is the front-runner, followed by defending conference champion Pitt, in the 2022 College Football America Yearbook Preseason ACC Rankings.
The ACC rankings are based off the College Football America Yearbook’s overall Top 131 rankings, which ranks every team in FBS entering the season.
Clemson took a back seat to Pitt last season, even though the Tigers won 10 games and reached a bowl game. The expectations are high for the program that has won two national championships under head coach Dabo Swinney. The Tigers have the tools to return to the top of the league, led by Myls Murphy, who is one of three Clemson defensive linemen on the College Football America Yearbook ACC Starting Lineup. Murphy had seven sacks last season, as the Tigers won 10 games and reached a bowl game.
Pitt is second in the ACC preseason rankings, and while the Panthers have plenty of talent returning, they must still find replacements for their two biggest losses of the offseason — quarterback Kenny Pickett to the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers and wide receiver Jordan Addison, who transferred to USC.
NC State is right behind Pitt at No. 21 and figures to be a team that will be in the mix to claim the conference title well into November.
The 2022 College Football America Yearbook features nine pages of ACC content, including an overall preview of the conference race, a spotlight piece on a stadium, the ACC Starting Lineup, all team schedules and a half-page devoted to each program.
The 2022 College Football America Yearbook features more than 900 college football teams from the United States and Canada in more than 250 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes dozens of action shots and stadium photos taken by the CFA staff.
The print edition is available online via Amazon.com and other major retailers such as Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million.
