The Linfield Wildcats are No. 6 in the 2022 College Football America Yearbook’s Division III Preseason Top 30.
The Wildcats are coming off a 2021 in which they went 11-1 overall and 7-0 in Northwest Conference action. The Wildcats won playoff games against Redlands and Saint John’s before falling to Mary Hardin-Baylor in the quarterfinals, 49-24. The Crusaders went on to win the national championship two weeks later.
Linfield, a traditional favorite in the NWC, opens the season at Huntingdon on Sept. 4, followed by its home opener against Redlands on Sept. 17. That game is a rematch of their playoff game from a season ago. The Wildcats then open their NWC schedule on Oct. 1 against Puget Sound.
