The Oklahoma Sooners are the FBS preseason No. 6 team in the 2022 College Football America Yearbook.

The College Football America Yearbook Top 30 is part of the Top 131, which ranks every team in FBS. The Sooners are coming off a 11-2 season in which they failed to get to the Big 12 Championship Game since it was reinstated for the 2017 season. The Sooners beat Oregon in the Alamo Bowl. Head coach Lincoln Riley took the job at USC, and the Sooners hired Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables to replace him.

The Dream Team is the Yearbook’s All-America Team. Put together like an 85-player FBS roster, the Sooners didn’t have any players selected. But, the Dream Team also has a ‘Freshman’ class, listing 25 of the best recruits in the Class of 2021. Oklahoma had one incoming player on the team — quarterback Nick Evers (Flower Mound, Texas).

Finally, the Sooners had players named to the Big 12 Starting Lineup. Those players included cornerback Key Lawrence and kicker Michael Turk

The 2022 College Football America Yearbook features seven pages of Big 12 content, including an overall preview of the conference race, a spotlight piece on a stadium, the Big 12 Starting Lineup, all team schedules and a half-page devoted to each program with stadium photos.

The 2022 College Football America Yearbook features more than 900 college football teams from the United States and Canada in more than 250 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes updates on club football, one-year postgraduate prep/sports academies and Mexican college football, along with dozens of action shots and stadium photos taken by the CFA staff.

The print edition is available online via Amazon.com and other major retailers such as Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million.
