Central Michigan, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan are the front-runners in the 2022 College Football America Yearbook Preseason Mid-American Conference Rankings.
The MAC rankings are based off the College Football America Yearbook’s overall Top 131 rankings, which ranks every team in FBS entering the season.
Central Michigan is the favorite, but only slightly ahead of NIU and WMU. CMU returns running back Lew Nichols III, who is coming off a season in which he rushed 1,848 yards and 16 touchdowns for the Chippewas.
NIU is the defending MAC champion and has quarterback Rocky Lombardi, who threw for 2,597 yards. He’s back, along with most of the offensive linemen that protected him and eight returning starters on defense.
WMU’s defense will be the team’s strength, with six returning starters and all three linebackers — Zaire Barnes, Corvin Moment and Ryan Selig — along for the ride.
The 2022 College Football America Yearbook features eight pages of MAC content, including an overall preview of the conference race, a spotlight piece on a stadium, the MAC Starting Lineup, all team schedules and a half-page devoted to each program.
The 2022 College Football America Yearbook features more than 900 college football teams from the United States and Canada in more than 250 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes dozens of action shots and stadium photos taken by the CFA staff.
The print edition is available online via Amazon.com and other major retailers such as Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million.
